Mark, originally from New Zealand and based in Los Angeles, tragically passed away, leaving a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Mark’s contributions to music were extraordinary. As the composer for numerous films, his work transformed every project he touched, bringing emotion, depth, and life to the screen. Fans and colleagues alike remember his unforgettable themes, including the iconic scores for BOAR and Charlie’s Farm, which continue to resonate long after their release. Beyond his professional achievements, Mark was known for his kindness, warmth, and unwavering support for friends, students, and colleagues. He served as Department Chair for Composing for Visual Media at the Los Angeles College of Music, mentoring and inspiring the next generation of composers. Formerly COO of The Society of Composers & Lyricists, he also contributed regularly to Score Magazine, sharing his knowledge and insights with the broader music community.
