A woman has died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in the parking lot of CF Shops at Don Mills, according to authorities in Toronto.
Officers with the Toronto Police Service responded to reports of a pedestrian collision shortly after 10:40 a.m. near Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue East. Police said the incident occurred within the shopping centre parking lot, a busy area frequently used by shoppers, restaurant visitors, and employees.
When emergency crews arrived, they found an adult woman suffering from critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle inside the parking area. Despite life-saving efforts at the scene, authorities later confirmed that the woman died from her injuries. Toronto paramedics stated that no patients were transported to the hospital, indicating the victim was pronounced deceased at the location.
The woman’s identity has not yet been publicly released as officials work to notify her family.
Police confirmed the driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators. At this time, authorities have not announced any charges or stated what factors may have contributed to the fatal collision.
Although nearby roadways remained open, sections of the parking lot were temporarily secured while collision investigators examined the scene, gathered evidence, and interviewed witnesses. Several people in the area reported seeing a significant police presence around the popular retail complex as portions of the parking lot were taped off.
CF Shops at Don Mills is one of Toronto’s busiest outdoor shopping destinations, drawing large numbers of both pedestrians and vehicles daily.
