Authorities in Plant City are continuing to investigate multiple shooting incidents that have deeply shaken the community, including a Saturday evening shooting that left one person hospitalized and a separate quadruple homicide case involving two women and two young children.
According to reports, Plant City police responded Saturday evening to another shooting incident in which one person was transported to a hospital for treatment. Officials have released few details regarding the victim’s condition or the circumstances surrounding that shooting as the investigation remains active.
The latest violence comes just days after a devastating quadruple homicide that stunned residents across the city. Investigators say officers responding to a disturbance on West Tever Street discovered a 4-month-old infant, a 4-year-old child, and their 28-year-old mother suffering from gunshot wounds. The children were pronounced dead awhere the children’s 55-year-old grandmother was also found fatally shot. Authorities believe individuals traveled between the two scenes during the early morning hours.
Recent reporting has identified the victims as 28-year-old Hailey Dempsey, her mother Valerie DeBoe, and two of Dempsey’s young children.
Neighbors described the tragedy as deeply disturbing, with some reporting that police had responded to domestic-related concerns in the days leading up to the killings. Witnesses also reported suspicious behavior shortly before the shootings occurred.
The Plant City Police Department has asked residents and business owners to review surveillance or doorbell camera footage recorded between approximately 5:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on the morning of the quadruple homicide. Detectives continue urging anyone with information to come forward as investigators work to determine a motive and identify those responsible.
The violence has left the Plant City community grieving and searching for answers as law enforcement continues multiple active investigations.
