Robert Irwin Death Rolled, Robert Irwin Reveals Terrifying Encounter With 700-Pound Crocodile Named After Jimmy Fallon

Robert Irwin Death Rolled; – Robert Irwin stunned audiences during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon after revealing he was nearly crushed by a massive crocodile named after host Jimmy Fallon.

Appearing on the show on May 6, 2026, the 22-year-old wildlife conservationist shared the dramatic story of a dangerous encounter with a 14-foot, 700-pound crocodile also named “Jimmy Fallon,” which lives at Australia Zoo.

Robert explained that he originally named the crocodile years ago when it was much smaller. Since then, the reptile has grown into what he described as a “boss croc.”

“He’s not a baby anymore,” Irwin joked during the interview. “I named this crocodile Jimmy Fallon years ago, and now he’s huge.”

The audience erupted with laughter as Fallon reacted humorously to learning a crocodile carrying his name had nearly injured his guest.

But the story quickly turned intense when Robert described how the research expedition went wrong.

According to Irwin, he was participating in crocodile conservation research — a method pioneered by his late father, Steve Irwin — which involves physically jumping onto crocodiles in order to temporarily restrain them and collect scientific data.

During the encounter, the crocodile suddenly performed a violent “death roll,” a dangerous spinning maneuver crocodiles use in the wild to overpower prey.

“The little… He death-rolled me,” Robert told Fallon. “I jumped onto him. Fourteen feet of crocodile just rolled me.”

Irwin explained he became trapped underneath the reptile with his arm pinned while hundreds of pounds of force pressed down on him.

Fortunately, the crocodile rolled back in the opposite direction moments later, allowing Robert to escape serious injury.

“And luckily, he rolled back the other way, and I was fine,” Irwin said before adding the now-viral line: “He’s a goer, Jimmy. He’s a goer.”

The moment quickly spread online, with fans praising Robert’s calm storytelling and Fallon’s comedic reactions throughout the interview.

Robert Irwin, son of the legendary “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, has continued his family’s conservation legacy through wildlife education and environmental advocacy. In recent years, he has also expanded his public profile through photography, television appearances, and entertainment projects.

Alongside his conservation work, Irwin recently won Dancing with the Stars Season 35 and has been announced as the host of a new spin-off series focused on discovering future professional dancers.

Despite the terrifying experience, Robert continues working closely with wildlife at Australia Zoo, carrying forward the conservation mission his father became famous for around the world.

The crocodile Jimmy Fallon remains at Australia Zoo — apparently unaware that his late-night television fame has now gone global.
